A rare and rather appealing Edwardian TORTOISESHELL BOX, of circular form, featuring a working watch to the lid. The beautifully-figured tortoiseshell box itself is in perfect condition, whilst the “10-jewel” watch is of silver with marcasite inset into the decorative border. Both movement and dial are signed “G.S. Paris”. It hinges upwards (for winding) and is in perfect working order. Unusual and charming ~ possibly from a Dressing Table set?
