A fine pair of William IV period gilt framed Watercolour portraits by Thomas Woolnoth. One depicts a Gentleman smartly dressed in formal clothing; the other a Lady dressed equally well in black dress, lace hairpiece, pearl necklace and earrings. Both Signed and dated.
Signed and dated 1834.

About the artist: Thomas A. Woolnoth (1785-1857) Lived in London and painted mostly historical subjects and portraits. He exhibited nine works at the Royal Academy, the later of these including “The Meeting of Henrietta Maria and Marie de Medici”; “King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba” and “The Separation of Sir Thomas More and his family”. He also exhibited five works at SS and four works at the British Institute.
