Late 19th century French Carriage Clock Timepiece – Henri Jacot

A good clean French brass Carriage clock timepiece by the famous Parisian clockmaker Henri Jacot. This clock is stamped with the makers trademark stamp and comes with original matching numbered key. The clock is larger than normal measuring 7.25 inches high (with handle up). All sides have bevelled glass, which is undamaged.

The 8-day movement retains its original platform lever escapement. The enamelled dial has Roman numerals, ‘diamond’ quarter-hour markers and ‘dot’ 5-minute markers with original black-steel spade hands.

Serial number 10159 appears both on the clock backplate (inside the door, lower left) and on the key. The backplate also bears the Henri Jacot trademark stamp to the left side near to the word Paris.
