COUNTY OF LANCASTER: a solid bronze measure “Imperial Gallon” for the County of Lancaster and dated 1834.
Cast by De Graves of London, with twin carrying handles, this fine bronze measure was originally used by Customs and Excise Officers to check that market traders were not under-selling their customers. From a set numbered 1013.
Ideal for use today as a Wine Cooler ~ it will easily take two bottles plus ice!
Dimensions: 8ins diameter (12ins across the handles) and 7ins high.
