HENRI JACOT: A very good quality late 19th century CARRIAGE CLOCK by this famous French maker. The 8-day timepiece movement is contained within its excellent “Corniche” case and retains its original platform lever escapement. Perfect enamel dial (inscribed: “Examined by Dent, 34, Cockspur St. London”); original blued steel ‘spade’ hands and with trademark to the backplate. Numbered 17645 to both movement and case. Perfect working order and guaranteed at least two years.  c1880.

** HENRI JACOT: one of the great makers of French Carriage Clocks. His trademark: a parrot on a stand flanked by the initials “H” and “J” was first introduced circa 1878.
