A good quality late Victorian SILVER BOX with a “secret” opening method ~ the close-fitting lid springs open by placing the box in one hand, then squeezing the sides together. Gilded interior; full hallmarks for Chester 1898; makers: Hilliard & Thomason; beautifully engraved with the ornate initials “L G” to the lid. 8cms diameter.
