** The Guild and School of Handicraft was established in London in 1888, later moving to Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. It was a community of artists and craftspeople, led by the Arts & Crafts architect, Charles Ashbee. Whilst some members of the community returned to London early in the 20th century, Ashbee and other remained in Chipping Campden including George Hart, whose son Henry, continued the fine traditions and skills of the movement. Henry in turn taught his own son David, who runs Hart Silversmiths in the town to this day.
