A George III / George IV Rosewood Library Writing Table, stamped “Gillows . Lancaster” to the front of the drawer. With an inset gilt tooled and embossed green-leather writing surface within a gadrooned border above a long mahogany lined drawer on baluster and turned supports with gadrooned socles, sledge bases and scrolled feet with recessed castors. Structurally sound.

The “Gillows . Lancaster” struck mark is known to have been used on narrow drawer fronts (as with this example) between 1795 & 1825. See (Volume I) p.94-95, Susan E.
