FRENCH STRIKING CARRIAGE CLOCK BY DROCOURT

DROCOURT: A good quality and attractive French CARRIAGE CLOCK by this famous maker, in perfect working order. The case is of “Corniche” design, with bevelled glass panels all around and an oval glass panel at the top to view the escapement. The eight-day movement, which retains its original lever platform escapement, strikes hours and half-hours on a gong and is signed with the Drocourt trademark to the backplate, whilst the perfect enamel dial features a pretty engraved and gilded “mask” and the original Breguet “moon” hands. Guaranteed for at least two years. c1870-80.
