FINE SMALL 18TH CENTURY BRACKET CLOCK

Price: £2950
Stock No. 5371/k

PERCIVAL MANN, LONDON**: a fine quality 18th century mahogany BRACKET CLOCK of attractive small size.  The well-figured mahogany case is of traditional “bell-top” design, with upper gilded brass carrying handle; finely moulded leading edges to the top; both front and back doors and to the base; gilt spandrels to the door and shallow block feet.

The eight-day movement retains its original verge escapement, striking hours melodiously on a bell, and repeating the hours at will via the pull cord, whilst the good dial features “Strike/Silent” in the arch; date aperture above “VI”; mock pendulum below  “XII” and an engraved signature to the elliptical plaque at the centre. This delightful and very pretty Bracket Clock is thoroughly original and it should be noted that it is considerably smaller than usual. 15ins high (handle down); 9ins wide and 6.25 ins deep front-to-back.

Thoroughly recommended and guaranteed for at least two years.
