AUSTRIAN COLD-PAINTED BRONZE POLO PLAYER

A fine quality and quite large Austrian “Vienna” cold-painted BRONZE POLO PLAYER in fine original condition. Set upon its well-figured “Verde Alpi” green marble base, this excellent bronze depicts the polo player, partly out of his saddle, in the process of hitting the ball at his feet.  Both the rider and pony are beautifully modelled in the finest detail, whilst the sculptor has caught the action superbly. Stamped underneath with a model number and “GESCH” which is short for “Geschutzt”, or copyright. 15cms wide; 21cms high. c1900.
