** It is believed Vincenti was a Corsican who started a factory in Monbeliard in 1823. However the business soon failed, and was taken over by a Monsieur Roux, who kept the Vincenti name. By 1825 there were some 50 employees and Vincenti et Cie, won silver medals in 1834 and 1855 for their ‘blanc roulants’ (clock movements). Production ceased circa 1870.
