A GOOD SMALL ENGLISH SKELETON CLOCK

An attractive and good quality mid-19th century English SKELETON CLOCK of small size.  The eight-day movement with its fine chain fusee, is fitted with six-spoked wheels throughout and precision brass pendulum, whilst the silvered dial is engraved with its Roman numerals.  Complete with its original period glass dome and mahogany base. 12ins (30cms) high including the dome and base. circa 1850-65

* This is a high quality English Skeleton Clock as evidenced by the wheels, all of which feature six spokes. Similar clocks with five-spoked wheels are generally considered to be well made, whilst those with four-spoke wheels are often clocks sold in “kit form” early/mid 20th century.
