A FINE GEORGE III INLAID TEA CADDY

A very good late 18th century George III period cube-shaped TEA CADDY, in fine original condition. Veneered throughout in harewood (figured sycamore) this is inlaid to the lid; front, sides and the back with finely-figured oval mahogany panels within chequered string inlaid borders. All four corners are ‘canted’ and beautifully inlaid with faux Corinthian columns, whilst the interior retains almost all of its original lead lining. 5.5ins wide; 5.25ins deep; 4.5ins high (14 x 13.25 x 11.5cms) English circa 1790.
