A CHARMING BRONZE DACHSHUND

For lovers of this breed: a charming and lively BRONZE of a DACHSHUND in lovely condition having acquired a fine warm patina. It depicts the dog in an alert pose, with tail curled and is set upon its original white marble base. Although unsigned, this is beautifully modelled and finely cast, with great attention paid to every detail. 17cms long; 13cms high; 11cms deep. c1900.

** The dachshund (sometimes unflatteringly called a “sausage dog”) emanates from Germany where it was originally bred for badger-hunting. They are lively, clever and courageous making loyal, intelligent and popular family companions.
