FINE QUALITY LADY’S INLAID ROSEWOOD WRITING BOX

A good quality Lady’s rosewood WRITING BOX in very good condition. The well-figured exterior is beautifully inlaid with ornate brass stringing with engraved brass and mother-of-pearl motifs, whilst to the centre is a beautiful inlaid cartouche of engraved brass; mother-of-pearl and abalone. The box opens to reveal the original blind-tooled red velvet writing surface and its two matching ink bottles. Unusual for this model, there are also three rather good secret drawers.  15ins wide; 10ins deep; 4.25cms high. (38x25x11cms) English circa 1870.
