Joseph THORS RA (1835-1920): A gilt framed oil painting, depicting a charming rural scene of a pony being ridden along a country lane with trees either side. A typical study of trees and foliage from the Victorian era, well painted and with little wear.

A Dutch born landscape artist, THORS mostly lived and exhibited in and around London. He was prolific and exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, but also at the Society of British Artists & in Birmingham. His style was Norwich school, but he belonged to the Birmingham school.
