19th century Mahogany cased Bracket Clock with ‘Passing Strike’

Price: £1650
Stock No. 238/2019/PFK

A mahogany cased Bracket Clock with silvered dial and ‘Passing Strike’. The pad-topped case is of finest quality flame-mahogany with brass handles to the side and cast brass ‘ogee’ feet.

The unsigned silvered dial has roman numerals and retains its original blued-steel ‘spade’ hands. The 8-day movement strikes just once on each hour, known as a ‘Passing Strike’, ideal if someone in your household doesn’t like excessive chiming. It also means it does not need its own winding post/train, one weekly wind takes care of both the ‘going’ and ‘strike’ actions.
