1928/19: A superb quality and most elegant late 19th century Sheraton Revival mahogany standing CORNER CABINET in fine original condition. Below the pretty cornice with its marquetry inlaid anthiemon and swan-necks are twin doors with Gothic glazing bars flanked by turreted columns inlaid with trailing vines. Below the central drawer are two bow-fronted doors, also profusely marquetry inlaid, which open to reveal shelves within. It stands on solid 'toupee' feet and measures 6ft 8ins high and 35ins wide. A most elegant and high quality cabinet. * Signed to the edge of the drawer by the cabinetmakers: Edwards & Roberts. c.1880

1623/18: EDWARDS & ROBERTS: a splendid quality late Victorian mahogany WRITING DESK in wonderful condition. The boxwood inlaid and crossbanded top is fitted with a gilt-tooled morocco leather writing surface, whilst below, the two pedestals each have three graduated drawers arranged either side of the kneehole, with a further concave drawer to the centre. All these drawers are lined in mahogany and are beautifully inlaid with marquetry scrollwork to the fronts. One is fitted for writing (ink bottles; pens etc) and the centre drawer is stamped with the makers name. A practical and very attractive desk. 48ins wide; 25ins deep; 28.5ins high. (122 x 63.5 x 72cms) c.1890
