1975/19: GILLOWS of LANCASTER: a truly superb quality Regency or William IV period mahogany LIBRARY BOOKCASE-CABINET in particularly fine original condition. The upper section is surmounted by a fine cast and gilded gallery, below which is the glazed bookcase top with original glass, which features two adjustable shelves making three in total. Further below are three well-figured doors which open to reveal adjustable shelves within. It is supported on typical Gillows “melon” carved feet. A stunning example of Gillows work in exceptional condition. Highly recommended. 5ft wide.; 5ft 6ins high (maximum) (152 x 178cms) c.1830

1946/19: A lovely quality and most useful late Regency or early Victorian rosewood "WATERFALL" BOOKCASE in fine original condition. Of a beautiful colour and patina, this fine bookcase features five graduated shelves, which are supported on solid turned rosewood columns, with the upper shelf surmounted by a shaped rosewood gallery. It is supported on four solid rosewood feet and measures 48ins wide; 45ins high and 13 ins deep maximum; (122 x 114 x 33 cms). *Called a "Waterfall" bookcase because each of the shelves vary in height and depth to accommodate books of varying sizes. c.1830

1875/18: A good late Victorian or Edwardian REVOLVING BOOKCASE of excellent colour. Unusually, it is veneered in rosewood, with a circular 'batswing' patera to the centre of the top. Below, there are three mahogany-lined small drawers, with seven other 'compartments' for books, arranged on two tiers. Good condition and both a useful and practical bookcase. 36ins high; the top: 20.5 x 20.5ins. (91 x 52 x 52cms) c.1900
