2051/19: Auguste Margaine: a good quality late 19th century French CARRIAGE CLOCK in perfect condition. The "Corniche" case features bevelled glass panels to all four sides and an oval bevelled glass panel to the top with the unusual feature of the owners initials engraved to the underside. The 8-day movement, retaining its original platform lever escapement, strikes hours and half-hours on a gong, and repeats the hours at will. Perfect enamel dial and original 'breguet' blued steel moon hands. Makers Trademark (a "beehive" clock flanked by the initials "A & M") is found on the backplate. 6.5ins high. c.1890

2006/19: A late 19th century French CARRIAGE CLOCK with an interesting provenance. The "Corniche" case features a military inscription dated 1889 and was sold by Maple & Co., with offices in Bombay and Poona ~ to supply British Officers with essential luxuries! The eight-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a gong, repeating hours at will, with a separate alarm train and it retains its original platform lever escapement. Good enamel dial; original blued steel Breguet “moon” hands. Guaranteed at least two years. c.1890

1992/19: A good quality French CARRIAGE CLOCK by the famous maker: Alfred Drocourt. The case is of "Gorge" design with a large bevelled glass panel to the top, whilst the eight-day movement, which retains its original platform lever escapement, strikes hours and half hours on a gong, repeating hours at will, via the push button on top. The white enamel dial is perfect as are the original blued steel spade hands. 6.5ins high (handle up). c.1880
