2056/19: A very high quality and attractive French ormolu MANTEL CLOCK. The case is typically French with its rococo styled finial; latticework sides and scrolled feet and is of the very finest ormolu (gilded bronze) which retains its fine original gilding. The eight-day timepiece movement is in perfect working order, whilst the gilded dial is also in mint order and the blued steel ‘Breguet’ hands are totally original. 12ins high;7ins wide; 4ins deep. (30.5x17.75x10cms) The weight for its size, and the fine quality of this clock is amazing! c.1865

2043/19: A finely modelled and cast ormolu INKWELL, cover and blue-glass liner with a cast finial which depicts a child and swan. The body is modelled with various classical motifs, and it is supported on the backs of three putti seated on a rouge marble plinth. Almost certainly French and mid-19th century. 6.5ins (16.5 cms) high overall. c.1860

2008/19: A pretty mid/late 19th century French CLOCK SET (or “Garniture de Cheminee”) comprising the pair of white marble and ormolu-mounted candelabra which flank the impressive matching clock. The side candelabra have a centre finial which turns over to reveal a third candle-holder, whilst the clock itself, also of white marble and ormolu embellished, is of eight-day duration, striking hours & half-hours on a bell. Good convex enamel dial and gilt ornate hands. In full working order and guaranteed for at least two years. The clock 16ins (40cms) high. c.1880

1969/19: An impressive and fine quality mid-19th century French Second Empire period MANTEL CLOCK in perfect working order. The "portico" style case is of satin birch embellished with ormolu mounts and ormolu capitals to the four columns. The eight-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell via the outside countwheel, whilst the original bi-metallic "grid-iron" pendulum is of finely cast ormolu, as is the good gilded dial and dial surround.
