1576/17: An amusing (and rare) late 19th century Austrian cold-painted BRONZE ELEPHANT in good original condition. He is portrayed with his trunk raised playfully and is complete with his original polished ivory tusks and original paintwork. Apparently unmarked but clearly a genuine Vienna cold-painted bronze. 6.5ins long; 4.25ins high; 2.5ins deep (16.5 x 10.8 x 6.5cms) c.1880

1575/17: A beautiful OIL PAINTING on panel which depicts a family gathering being entertained by an itinerant traveller playing a small flute whilst his two performing dogs dance to the delight of the children. The quality of this work is utterly charming and the depiction of the figures is particularly emotive. The table is set with partially consumed food; chickens peck at the crumbs ~ there is much going on! Signed and dated 1859. 15 x 13.5ins unframed. *Jean Alphonse Roehn (1799-1864) was born, worked and died in Paris. He exhibited regularly at the yearly Salon and his works were almost exclusively settings from everyday life, for which he had an obvious talent. c.1859

1524/17: A charming late 19th century Austrian "Vienna" cold-painted BRONZE DUCK. Retaining most of its original paintwork, and raised on a turned oak base, this pretty bronze is a model we have not seen before. ~ and is likely to raise a smile, such is its charm! 10cms wide; 11 cms high. c.1880

1423/17: Franz Xavier BERGMANN: a large and most impressive "Vienna" COLD-PAINTED BRONZE of an eagle alighting on a rock. The bird is depicted with wings fully outstretched in a realistic and animated style, typical of Bergmann's work. All of the original detailed paintwork is intact, and it is fully signed ("B" in an urn) and numbered underneath. It's large: 15ins wide and 12ins high. (38 x 30.5cms). *Bergmann, originally a fine metal worker, inherited the Vienna foundry from his father in 1860. His work is recognised for its great attention to detail and wonderful vibrant colours. c.1880
