827/14: An attractive, unusual and very fine quality mid-19th century SIDE CABINET, predominantly of rosewood. Below the solid gilt brass gallery, the top is veneered in finest burr amboyna wood, of glorious warm honey colour, whilst below is a central cupboard with a pleated 'silk' panel within the door, and with egg-and-dart mouldings and shelves inside. This is flanked by two narrow tall cupboards, also with shelves inside and with pretty silk-backed fretwork panels within the doors. It stands on a plinth base and measures 46ins (117cms) wide.
