2122/19: A good French CARRIAGE CLOCK by the famous maker:
 Henri JACOT and signed with his trademark on the back of the movement. Within its good “Corniche” case, the 8-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a gong, and repeats hours at will. Good enamel dial and fitted with its original lever platform escapement. Complete with original numbered key and numbered leather travelling case. *Henri Jacot was one of the finest makers of Carriage Clocks in the second half of the 19th century. A "jacot" is a parrot or "pretty polly"; his trademark is a parrot on a stand between the initials "H" and "J".
