2089/19: A rather special two-day MARINE CHRONOMETER by the famous maker M.J. Dent, within its original coromandel-wood 3-tier case. This chronometer, within gymbals, is of traditional 54-hour duration with subsidiary dials for seconds and state of the winding whilst both hour & minute hands are of gold. The movement, which is in perfect working order, features spring detente escapement and âHarrisonsâ maintaining power. The silvered dial is engraved with the maker and number (29479) indicating a date of c1875. Complete with original winding key. *Marine chronometers by Dent are rare, particularly in coromandel-wood cases...
