French "Four-Glass" clock
2034/19: An impressive and very good quality French "Four-Glass" MANTLE CLOCK in full working order. The substantial cast brass case is of "Gorge" design, with large bevelled glass doors to front and back and a shaped plinth base. The 8-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell, with visible escapement to the front of the two-piece enamel dial which is in perfect condition. Original bi-metallic pendulum which adjusts for pressure conditions. The movement is signed for Marti & Cie, of Paris. 14.5ins high; 8.5ins wide; 6.5ins deep (37 x 21.5 x 16.5cms)
