2021/19: A very fine mahogany LONGCASE CLOCK by Daniel Cornwell of Billericay (Essex) from the third quarter of the 18th century. Superb case; pagoda hood (with removable upper finial and pediment); long trunk door; double-plinth base. 8-day five-pillar movement strikes hours on a bell, with original pendulum and brass-cased weights. Impressive dial, with engraved and silvered chapter-ring; cast spandrels; seconds dial and "Strike Silent" control in the arch. 94ins high (239cms) without the detachable upper pediment & finial. *Daniel Cornwell Snr London c1750 moving to Billericay 1760's where he was joined by his son.
