Carriage clock by JACOT
1989/19: A good quality and impressive late 19th century French CARRIAGE CLOCK by the famous maker: Henri JACOT. Housed in its bright polished "Corniche" case, the eight-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a gong, and it retains its original lever platform escapement. Perfect enamel dial and original blued steel "spade" hands. Signed to the backplate and numbered 16999. 7ins high, handle up. *Henri JACOT was a highly regarded maker of Carriage Clocks, winning several important awards at Paris Salon exhibitions. His trademark is a parrot on a stand flanked by the initials "H.J". (A "Jacot" is French for "Pretty Polly")
