PAIR of "Knife" Boxes
1924/18: A superb PAIR of late 18th century mahogany KNIFE (or CUTLERY) BOXES in lovely original condition. Particularly desirable in pairs, these were traditionally placed at either end of the sideboard, with their sloping lids opening to reveal the original interior fittings for various items of cutlery. Both retain their original silver handles and escutcheons to the serpentine fronts, whilst the colour and patina of these is untouched and unblemished! Quite rare in pairs, these are highly recommended. 14.5ins high (maximum) and 9ins wide. Priced for the pair...
