Superb "Grandmother" longcase clock
1892/18: A truly superb quality mid/late 19th century month-going "Grandmother" LONGCASE CLOCK. The pretty walnut case is delightful with an architecural pedument; fluted canted corners to the hood door; long trunk door and double plinth base. The 35-day movement is extraordinary, being an absolutely faithful Victorian copy of a late 17th century clock with finned pillars; fine blued steel hands; delicate matting to the dial; cast cherubs head spandrels and engraved herringbone dial surround. Signed: "Lenygon Londini Fecit" (maker thus far untraced) to the lower edge of the dial. Truly a GORGEOUS clock! 74ins 188cms) tall.
