Three Train Bracket Clock

1886/18: A very fine late Victorian three-train chiming BRACKET CLOCK by Lund & Blockley of London. The case is (unusually) of finely-figured coromandel wood with an arched top and canted corners; the superb 8-day movement strikes hours on a gong; quarters on a nest of 8 bells and repeats both hours and quarters via a pull cord. The engraved & silvered dial has twin subsidiary dials: for "Strike/Silent" control and through-the-dial timekeeping adjustment. 19.5ins (49.5cms) tall. *Lund & Blockley was a partnership of two London clockmakers who worked in Pall Mall from 1875-1905. They made clocks for Queen Victoria.
