McCabe bracket Clock
1869/18: JAMES McCABE of LONDON: a fine Regency period brass-inlaid mahogany BRACKET CLOCK in full working order. The brass-inlaid mahogany case, features pretty 'basket of flowers' brass handles above the "fish-scale" fretted side panels and it is raised on cast brass ball feet. The 8-day movement strikes & repeats hours on a bell. The precision pendulum is original; the backplate is engraved with the maker's name. and the convex painted dial with "Strike/Silent" control, is also original. * James McCabe, a well-known and highly regarded watch and clockmaker, worked in London from around 1790 until circa 1860.
