French bronze nymph
1839/18: EUGENE MARIOTON: a charming French BRONZE SCULPTURE of a young nymph, with long hair and scantily dressed, walking down a rocky path holding a conch shell to her ear. It is signed to the integral bronze base, it is also complete with its original rouge antico marble plinth. 13ins (33cms) high. *EUGENE MARIOTON was a Paris born French sculptor who worked mainly in bronze. He was born in 1857, one of three brothers who were all artists (though not sculptors) and he died in 1933.
