Regency Bracket Clock
1720/18: A really lovely late Regency BRACKET CLOCK of compact size and in fine and very original condition. The case is of beautifully figured rosewood with a gadrooned gabled top; shaped door; carved 'spandrels' and original compressed bun feet. The 8-day movement strikes hours on a bell with the engraved signature to both the backplate and the dial. Original pendulum and "holdfast" screw. The engraved & silvered dial features useful "Strike/Silent" control to the arch. 15ins (38cms) high (excluding finial). *Alexander Purvis is recorded working at No. 4, North Audley Street, (Mayfair) London 1825-1842.
