1655/18: A good late 19th century Japanese BRONZE LION, typically well modelled and finely cast. Emanating from the Meiji period (1868-1912) this fine bronze depicts the lion roaring and in an aggressive pose! Its mane is well cast; it is chased with pads beneath its paws; it has "blazing" glass eyes and is signed underneath. 14ins (35.5cms) long.
