1603/17: An excellent quality Regency period mahogany SECRETAIRE-BOOKCASE in fine original condition. The upper bookcase section features pretty glazing bars with stylised anthiemon terminals, whilst the twin doors open to reveal adjustable shelves within. The lower section has a well-fitted secretaire drawer containing nine small "bird's eye" maple-veneered small drawers arranged around a central pigeonhole whilst "flame" mahogany veneered doors below open to reveal shelves within. It stands on a plinth base and measures 43ins wide; 7ft 6ins tall and 21ins deep. An impressive Library or Drawing Room cabinet.
