Pretty French Mantle Clock
1581/17: A pretty mid-19th century French ormolu and porcelain-mounted MANTLE CLOCK in full working order. The case is of gilt bronze, surmounted by a finial of a vase of flowers and mounted with fine porcelain panels to the front and both sides. The scene to the front depicts a hunting party beside a lake, with rural woodland scenes to the side panels. The 8-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell and is signed "R&C (Richard & Cie) Paris and London. 10.25ins high (excl the finial) 6.5ins wide; 4.25 ins deep. (26 x 16.5 x 10.8cms)
