London mahogany Longcase Clock
1486/17: WILLIAM WEBSTER of LONDON: Good quality mid-18th century LONGCASE CLOCK in fine working condition. The mahogany case is typical of the period with its arched top; brass-inlaid columns flanking the hood door; long arched-top figured mahogany trunk door and panelled plinth base. The 8-day movement strikes hours on a bell, whilst thedial features "Strike/Silent" in the arch; subsidiary seconds and date aperture. Guaranteed at least two years. 7ft 3ins high. *William Webster (II) worked in Exchange Alley having been apprenticed in 1727. He was a full member of the Clockmakers Company 1734-1776
