Pembroke Games table
1447/17: A delightful George III period "metamorphic" GAMES & PEMBROKE TABLE of small size. At first glance this is a normal mahogany Pembroke Table, with twin flaps and frieze drawer, however the central section slides out to show the inlaid Backgammon board below. When this slide is turned over, the Chess, Draughts and Cribbage boards are revealed underneath. Complete with what may well be its original boxwood and ebony "barleycorn" chess set. A charming table that retains its small ebony drawer handles and which is supported on slender tapering legs with original castors. 31ins wide (open); 18ins wide (closed); 29ins high.
