1149/16: HOWARD of HITCHIN (Herts): an attractive and good quality mid-Victorian WALL CLOCK in perfect working order. The case is of mahogany, but unusually it is veneered in quartered oak of good warm "honey" colour. The 8-day movement is fusee driven with original pendulum; painted dial; blued steel hands and cast brass bezel. *J.G.Howard is recorded working in Hitchin "...mid-19th century..." see Loomes page 394.
